About

Stuttering Recovery is a rehearsal app for adults who stutter or stammer. It is designed and built by MintDigi Labs, a small independent studio. There is no marketing department and no support desk. If you email the support address, the reply comes from the people who wrote the code.

Why it exists

The hard part of stuttering is rarely the block itself. It is the second item on the menu, because the first one starts with a sound you do not trust today. It is the email you sent instead of the call you owed. It is the hand you did not put up.

Nothing about that improves by reading. It improves by doing the thing more than once, in a place where it does not count. That is the whole idea of this app: rehearse the call before you make it, and let the fiftieth attempt at your own name be the one that happens in front of someone.

What it is not

It is not medical care. It does not diagnose or treat anything, and it is not a substitute for a speech-language pathologist. If you can see one, see one. These pages link out toASHA and theNational Stuttering Association where they are the better answer, and in the UK toSTAMMA.

It also does not promise you will stop stuttering. Many people who stutter do not want to stop, and that position deserves respect rather than a sales pitch. The app measures your real-world behaviour: the moments you entered, and whether you said what you wanted to say. It never counts a block, never scores how you speak, and never compares you with anybody else.

A licensed speech-language pathologist has not yet reviewed the exercises. When one has, this page will say who they are and every technique page will carry their name. Until that happens, the honest statement is the one you just read.

Your voice

The app never listens. There is no microphone in it, no speech recognition, and no audio permission. Audio is never captured, written to a file, or uploaded. Two things do leave your phone: once you link Apple, your work syncs to your account on servers in Canada, and the two lines you type to build a rehearsal go to the AI that writes the script. There is no analytics package on this website either — no script of any kind runs on this page. Theprivacy policy explains both in detail.

What it costs

A 3 day free trial, then a subscription. Prices are on thehome page. After the trial ends, if you do not subscribe, Today stays visible in read-only mode. That is not a free version, and it is not a way to start. Onboarding ends at the paywall and has no way around it. Saying so up front seems better than letting you find out.
